Why origin matters

Natural origin you can evidence on paper

For many markets and many customers, where the nicotine came from is not a marketing line. It is a question on a registration dossier, a customs declaration or a customer audit, and it has to be answered with records rather than assurances.

Tobacco derived nicotine from our plant carries that record. Incoming leaf is graded and lot numbered, and every downstream stage references that lot, so a finished drum can be walked back to the tobacco it started as.

Naturally occurring isomer

Nicotine extracted from tobacco is the (S)-isomer, the form that occurs in the plant. This is the practical difference buyers ask about most often when comparing tobacco derived material with synthetic material, and it is worth confirming which your market and your monograph expect before you commit.

The five stage route

Powdering, pretreatment, extraction, multi-stage purification and release. Our extraction process page sets out each stage with the machinery used.

Purity and specification

Released specification

Tobacco derived material is released against the same limits as our flagship grade, with the alkaloid profile reported on every certificate.

Indicative values. The certificate of analysis issued with your batch is the governing document.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked

What is the difference between tobacco derived and synthetic nicotine?

Tobacco derived nicotine is extracted from the plant and is the naturally occurring (S)-isomer. Synthetic nicotine is manufactured without tobacco. The two are treated differently by some regulators, so the right choice depends on your market and your registration.

Can you document the natural origin for our dossier?

Yes. We issue an origin declaration alongside the batch CoA, and the batch record traces the material back to the graded tobacco lot it was extracted from.

Is a pesticide residue report available?

Yes, on request. Tell us which residue panel your market requires and we will confirm what we can test and report against before despatch.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Commercial supply starts at 1 kg, with 100 g samples for qualification. Contract volumes are quoted separately.
